The aim of the programme SPA RETREAT is prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of a wide range of diseases, based on the use of natural factors (unique climate of Jūrmala coast, various water procedures, Ķemeri therapeutic muds, bathing in natural warm sea water directly from the Gulf of Riga…), medical SPA procedures, the most modern medical device technologies, physiotherapy, rationally balanced diet and compliance with the specific treatment and rest regime prescribed by the attending physician will ensure positive changes in health improvement and effective rehabilitation. The use of SPA treatment methods will enable you to complete your basic therapy with the best results, prevent the flare-up of chronic diseases and strengthen your immune system and get a sense of well-being and healthy appearance.

RECOMMENDED FOR THE TREATMENT OF THE FOLLOWING ORGANS AND SYSTEMS:

• diseases of the musculoskeletal system
• diseases of the peripheral nervous system
• cardiovascular diseases
• metabolic diseases
• respiratory diseases, etc.

Composition of the programme:

• Consultation with a rehabilitation physician: drawing up an individual treatment plan and monitoring during the course of treatment
• Initial assessment by a physiotherapist and drawing up an individual physical activity plan
• Group remedial exercise in the gym (30 min.), 5 x
• Recreational walks, Nordic walking sessions along the seashore or through the pine forest, every day
• Controlled exercise on the exercise bike supervised by specialist (30 min.), 3 x
• Therapeutic baths: pearl bath or dry carbon dioxide bath or Charcot shower (15 min.), every other day, 3 x
• Mud applications (with peat mud or sapropel) on problem areas of the body (30 min.), every other day, 3 x
• Physical therapy treatments (electromagnetic therapy, ultrasound, laser therapy, halotherapy: one type), 5 x
• Lecture by a physiotherapist on the basic principles of physical activity
• Daily visit to the SEA WELLNESS health centre with seawater (120 min.), 6 x

The treatment plan may be supplemented by paid procedures according to the recommendations of the attending physician.
